Colin Hunter

Colin has more than 26 years experience working in the retail environment. Colin joined Procter & Gamble in 1981 in the Sales Division. He moved to Duracell UK (Gillette) in 1987 as National Account Manager handling the major Grocery Accounts. A series of promotions resulted in Colin holding the position of National Sales Controller where he was responsible for Key Accounts, Field Sales, Sales and Management Training and Third Party Merchandising.
In 1991 Colin took the opportunity to join Rayovac Vidor Ltd., as UK Sales Director.

Colin joined Glendinning in 1994, initially working on sales development projects with UK and European clients specialising in organisation design, practices and processes and Customer Management Capability Development. He then worked in Asia in 1997/98 where he developed the Best Practice Approach to Go To Market and Channel Strategy.

In March 1999, Colin established Glendinning Asia Pacific, based in Bangkok. Over the next 6 years, Colin, as MD Asia Pacific, developed Glendinning across the region with major clients in all markets in Asia with project delivery in local language. For these 6 years, Glendinning managed all markets from Thailand. Colin led the hugely successful Category Management programme with Tesco in Thailand which resulted in significant commercial benefits for both Tesco and the vendors by developing practical shopper based category plans

As a result of an increasing demand from clients to set up a dedicated business unit in China, Colin relocated to Shanghai in Q1 2005 to establish and develop Glendinning China. Colin already has a team of Chinese consultants to deliver Glendinning “Best Practice” solutions in local language and adapted to the local market issues. Glendinning China now works with numerous clients in China and across all our areas of expertise.
