John Patterson

Head of Capability & Training

Following three years as an Army Officer, John joined Procter & Gamble in 1987, where he developed rapidly through the sales organisation, undertaking assignments as Area Sales Manager and National Account Manager for Tesco before moving to the Sales Marketing Department as Customer Marketing Manager for Laundry products. He later became Category Manager responsible for Paper products (including Pampers Nappies) and managed new product launches, pricing strategy and promotion planning, within this role. John later moved to United Biscuits, as Sales Controller at Derwent Valley Foods (home of the Phileas Fogg brand) then with KP Foods and lastly McVities as Business Group Controller, where he was responsible for driving profitable sales growth in major customers and managing several key change projects.

John joined Glendinning Management Consultants as a Director of Consulting in August 2000 and now heads up the European Capability practice. His experience is extensive, positioning him well for consulting in the areas of capability and skills development, across the organisation.
In his spare time, John enjoys climbing mountains and running marathons.
